Frequently asked questions
Does Quarry need an internet connection?
No. Every problem and both engines (SQL via DuckDB, Python/pandas via Pyodide) are bundled in the app and run entirely on your device. Quarry works fully offline.
How do I run my code?
Open a problem, write your solution in the editor, and tap Run (or press ⌘↩ with a hardware keyboard). Quarry checks your output against the expected result and tells you if it passes.
The first run feels slow — is something wrong?
No. The on-device Python runtime warms up the first time you use it. Subsequent runs are fast.
Where are my Playground files stored?
On your device only. You can also see them in the iOS Files app under Quarry. They are never uploaded anywhere.
How do I reset my progress?
Go to Settings inside the app and choose “Reset progress”. This clears every solved tick and attempt count on your device.
Do you collect any of my data?
No. Quarry has no accounts, analytics, ads, or tracking. See our Privacy Policy.
